Dale Brill to Leave Florida Chamber Foundation in January

Dale Brill, who has headed the Florida Chamber Foundation for three years, is embarking on his own economic development effort.

Brill will step down as president of the chamber foundation in January, with Chamber President and CEO Mark Wilson taking over as interim president until a new leader is named.

Frederica Wilson Concerned about Impact of Lengthy Ballot

U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Miami Gardens, is expressing concern that the lengthy ballot in Miami-Dade County may detract some voters in her district.

A release from the congresswomans office noted the ballot in Miami-Dade County is 10 pages long, written in three languages, and people have waited three hours or more at some precincts.

Hundreds in Pinellas Told Voting Day Is 'Tomorrow'

Oops. Election Day snafu No. 1 (as far as we know so far) comes not from South Florida but from the left coast, from Pinellas County, where hundreds of voters were told to come to the polls on Wednesday, not today.

A robocall meant to be auto-dialed on Monday mistakenly went out between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Those on the receiving end were folks who asked to vote by mail but hadn't returned their ballots.

Pre-Election Night Notes from the Division of Elections

Election Night results will be available at http://enight.elections.myflorida.com/.

All results will be preliminary until Saturday, when the unofficial results are reported.

A recount cannot be ordered until the unofficial results are reported.

A machine recount is ordered when the statewide results are within half a percent, and if the results after the machine recount are within a quarter, a hand recount will take place, but only to review the over and under votes.
