Florida Sheriffs Unanimously Back 'Stand Your Ground'

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, the new president of the Florida Sheriffs Association (FSA), announced on Friday that his group continued to back Floridas Stand Your Ground law. The FSA voted unanimously to support the law.

On Friday, Gov. Rick Scott and the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) announced former U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine Chao will be the keynote speaker at the GOPs annual Statesmans Dinner at Disney World in October. Chao is the wife of GOP Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.

Gov. Rick Scott will be heading to Lakeland Friday, where he will be touring SteriPack USA's facilities and will be highlighting jobs the company has recently created.
The companyspecializes in flexible medical packaging and contract manufacturing service solutions. The Lakeland facility is about 43,000 square feet in size.
