Rick Scott Highlights Job Growth in Lakeland

Gov.Rick Scott made a visit to SteriPack Group in Lakeland Friday to announce the 31 new jobs they have created since 2012.

In 2012 SteriPack chose to locate their U.S. headquarters in Lakeland, committing to creating 27 jobs by 2013," said Scott. "I am proud to announce today SteriPack has exceeded its job creation goals and hired 31 Florida families. SteriPacks success proves that everything we are doing is geared toward creating jobs and opportunities for Florida families, and its working.

The company has sales offices in France, U.K., Tunisia, India, China, Germany, Netherlands, Spain and Italy. International medical packaging manufacturing company SteriPack chose Lakeland for its first North American headquarters due to its proximity to two international airports,major ports and a strong labor pool. SteriPackpurchased a 40,000-square-foot facility in Lakeland for its first U.S. based operations in 2012 and has hired 31 individuals to date. By 2016, SteriPack is expected to hire an additional 36 employees, for a total of 65 new jobs for the Sunshine State.

SteriPack has been servicing the medical device Industry worldwide for more than 17 years. The companys customer base includes many major blue chip medical companies including Johnson and Johnson, Abbot Laboratories, Medtronic, Boston Scientific, Jansen Pharmaceutical, Braun, and Merck.
