Rick Scott Makes Job Announcement in Lakeland

Gov. Rick Scott will be heading to Lakeland Friday, where he will be touring SteriPack USA's facilities and will be highlighting jobs the company has recently created.

The companyspecializes in flexible medical packaging and contract manufacturing service solutions. The Lakeland facility is about 43,000 square feet in size.

Scott has been traveling across the state highlighting job creation in Florida. In June, Florida's unemployment rate sat at7.1 percent, the lowest since September 2008. Floridas unemployment rate remains below the national average of 7.6 percent. During the month of June, 2,300 private-sector jobs were added, for a total of more than 333,000 private-sector jobs since December 2010.
