Things are going from bad to worse for the Jacksonville Jaguars, easily the worst team in the National Football League -- leading to a prominent basketball player to say the team needs to sign him.

Bartows own Tracy McGrady, who retired from the NBA last month, took to Twitter on Monday and suggested the team take a look at him. Jacksonville Jaguars need to bring me on in for a tryout at QB or receiver! McGrady, a seven time NBA All-Star, posted.

Allen West to Back 'Hard-Charging Conservatives' for Congress in 2014

Former U.S. Rep. Allen West has opened the door to a political comeback in 2016 but he has shut the door on running for office next year. Still, West has insisted he will remain politically active in the coming election cycle and, on Tuesday, tipped his cards to reveal some of his plans.

On Tuesday, West sent a message to supporters and insisted his Allen West Guardian Fund PAC will back 14 hard-charging conservatives running for Congress. The former congressman promised candidates he backed will guard the Constitution and defend our shared values."

Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio Meet With Cuban Democracy Activist

Floridas two U.S. senators -- Democrat Bill Nelson and Republican Marco Rubio -- joined Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Robert Menendez, D-N.J., to meet with Jorge Luis Garc Pez Antez, a prominent Cuban democracy activist, on Tuesday. They touched base on opposition to the Castro regime and the policies of Cubas Communist government.

Pam Stewart Becomes Commissioner of Education

It's official: Pam Stewart will be taking over as commissioner of education. In a meeting with the Board of Education on Tuesday, Stewart was unanimously selected as to be the permanent replacement for former Commissioner of Education Tony Bennett after he resigned six weeks ago.

This was the second time Stewart has held the interim commissioner post in the last year. She began her career in the '70s as a teacher in Hillsborough County and worked as a principal in Ocala. She also served as deputy superintendent in St. Johns County.

Alan Grayson Draws Fire From GOP Opponent Carol Platt

Carol Platt of the Osceola County Realtors ramped up her campaign for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson, D-Fla., on Tuesday. Platts camp announced formal campaign kickoffs throughout Central Florida toward the end of October.
