WASHINGTON -- The morning after, at breakfast at the Republicans' Capitol Hill Club, Virginia Rep. Robert Goodlatte was, as befits one of Washington's grown-ups, measured in his reaction to what 36,120 Virginia voters did the day before. It would, he says, be wise "to take a step back and a deep breath until we find out how everyone" -- meaning, especially, House Republicans -- "reacts to this." By "this" he indicates, with a wave of a hand, the one-word headline on Roll Call, a newspaper that covers Congress: "Stunner."

Ellyn Bogdanoff Seeks Rematch With Maria Sachs

Former state Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff announced on Wednesday that she was running in a rematch against Sen. Maria Sachs, D-Delray Beach. After being elected to the Senate in 2010 as a Republican, Bogdanoff lost to Sachs in 2012 in a rare match of two incumbents clashing after redistricting.

Two Florida congressional candidates -- businessman Luther Lee and businesswoman Stephanie Anderson -- are taking part in the Indy Alliance as they and other congressional hopefuls across the country are trying to get 100,000 Americans to rally behind independent candidates across the country. Lee is running against U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland, R-Fla., while Anderson is challenging U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, D-Fla.

Allen West Calls for Obama's Impeachment After Taliban Prisoner Exchange

Former U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., called for the impeachment of President Barack Obama on Wednesday.

I want to get straight to the point and make this short and sweet, West emailed supporters on Wednesday. I submit that Barack Hussein Obama's unilateral negotiations with terrorists occurred without consult from the U.S. Congress and resulted in the release of dangerous al-Qaida leaders. These actions represent high crimes and misdemeanors against our nation and are grounds for impeachment.
