Ellyn Bogdanoff Seeks Rematch With Maria Sachs

Former state Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff announced on Wednesday that she was running in a rematch against Sen. Maria Sachs, D-Delray Beach. After being elected to the Senate in 2010 as a Republican, Bogdanoff lost to Sachs in 2012 in a rare match of two incumbents clashing after redistricting.

I have had time to reflect on my desire to continue to make things better for our community, Bogdanoff emailed supporters on Wednesday. After many hours of deliberation and discussion with my family, friends, community leaders, and of course you, I have decided to run for Senate District 34. I will be sending the paperwork to Tallahassee today.

Bogdanoff will have to defeat conservative Karin Hoffman in the Republican primary. If she wins, Bogdanoff is expected to support Sen. Jack Latavala's, R-Clearwater, Senate presidential ambitions.
