Marco Rubio Takes Aim at Higher Education 'Cartel'

Appearing on William Bennetts radio show on Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., continued his opposition to President Barack Obamas efforts to reform student loan repayments and called on U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., to allow a vote on Republican education proposals. Rubio also had choice words for the current higher education system, calling it a cartel which stood against change.

Florida Prepaid College Board Hails Signing of In-State Tuition Bill

The Florida Prepaid College Board praised Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Legislature for the passage and signing of HB 851, which would allow children of undocumented immigrants to pay the same tuition rates as Florida residents.

Ted Yoho Measure, Stopping Feds from Tracking Americans Via GPS, Passes

U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla., scored a win on Tuesday as he added an amendment, which Congress accepted, to the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (THUD). Yohos amendment would ensure the federal government does not fund tracking civilian vehicles through GPS and other methods.

Charlie Crist Leads Rick Scott in SurveyUSA Poll

A SurveyUSA poll taken for WFLA shows former Gov. Charlie Crist has slipped into the lead over Gov. Rick Scott. The poll shows Crist ahead 44 percent to 42 percent. Two weeks ago, a Survey USA poll had Scott leading 42 percent to 40 percent.

WFLA noted the margin of error was 4.2 percent but has not released crosstabs or even the numbers of voters surveyed.

A poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP) released earlier in the day shows a tie at 42 percent apiece.
