After 10 Glorious Years, Sunshine State News and I Are Passing the Baton

U.S. Rep. Allen West still thinks Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz is "vile." Contrary to late afternoon reports from Roll Call and the Huffington Post, West, R-Plantation, has not apologized for his remarks directed at the Democratic congresswoman, who also heads the Democratic National Committee. "Absolutely false," West spokeswoman Angela Satchitano said of stories and tweets about an apology. Instead, Roll Call and HuffPo were said to be working on retractions and apologies of their own.

Poor Debbie Wasserman Schultz just can't get her talking points straight. Still obsessed with Rep. Allen West and his "vile" characterization of her, the hyper-partisan Florida Democrat offered two different and not totally coherent responses to a question about Medicare today. First, DWS told MSNBC:

Republican senatorial candidate Adam Hasner's "candid" video segments got a less-than-rave review from one of his GOP foes, Mike McCalister. "It's deceiving to call any video series 'candid' if it doesn't include an explanation regarding why Hasner supported high-speed rail, co-sponsored climate tax legislation, and pushed an amendment to remove an E-Verify requirement," said John Yob, a consultant for McCalister. "A more appropriate title would be: Adam Hasner -- my transformation from a self-proclaimed 'moderate' to a 'Tea Party conservative.'"

On Wednesday, the Florida State Board of Administration (SBA), which handles investments for state employees and retirees, announced that it oversaw solid growth in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) pension fund -- adding morethan $19 billion to its market value in the 2010-2011 fiscal year. By the end of June, the pensions were more than $128.4 billion.
