Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is turning to ice hockey to salvage his bid for the Republican presidential nomination. His campaign notes that Pawlenty will join Iowans for a pick-up game of hockey this Friday, July 22nd at noon in Urbandale (doesnt a pick-up game imply that it is not scheduled?) andhas a new commercial featuring Pawlenty speaking at a hockey rink. The ad also has glimpses of the iconic 1980 American Olympic hockey team which was coached by the late Herb Brooks, a favorite son of Minnesota.
