CFO Atwater Names New Insurance Consumer Advocate

Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater has named Robin Wescott as Florida's insurance consumer advocate. Wescott currently serves as executive director of the Medicaid and Public Assistance Fraud Strike Force, but will continue in that role as well as assuming her new duties.

Westcott spent eight years in the Florida Department of Insurance, Division of Rehabilitation and Liquidation, served as assistant general counsel for the Agency for Workforce Innovation and as acting deputy commissioner of property and casualty for the Office of Insurance Regulation.

Robin will be an ardent, outspoken and persistent advocate for Floridas insurance consumers. She is committed to holding insurance companies accountable and to ensuring consumers get exactly what they pay for and are protected from fraud and abuse. She has seen firsthand the tactics used to game the system and simply wont stand for it," Atwater said.
