After 10 Glorious Years, Sunshine State News and I Are Passing the Baton

You probably can't imagine how much fun I've had at Sunshine State News over the last 10 years. I don't think anybody could.

Let's face it, Debbie Wasserman Schultz has a history of interfering in party politics. She put her thumb on the scale in two races that we know of. Mrs. Buttinsky Wasserman Schultz tipped the scales in favor of Allison Tant in 2013, sending the Florida Democratic Party to wander the desert since. The party has been beaten like it stole something in every race that mattered. It is totally irrelevant at this point.
This column is a vehicle for a number of items in a bits-and-pieces, strictly opinion, sometimes irreverent format. Look for "Just Sayin'" to run once a week in this spot.
Donald Trump won fair and square and, as Hillary Clinton said in her concession speech, is owed an open mind and a chance to lead. On Friday the nation honors Veterans Day, originally known as Armistice Day, to mark the end of World War I on Nov. 11, 1918.
Voters delivered a humiliating rebuke to America's political establishment and to the hangers-on — the pollsters, the pundits, the celebrities who surrounded Hillary Clinton, even as Donald Trump stood alone -- and especially the biggest hanger-on of all, the media elite. What an Election Day.
As many of you know from my past columns, I haven’t been a fan of Donald Trump. Regardless, I always said I would vote for him given the alternative, which was much, much worse.
You can feel the tension. Strolling down the street, shopping at the corner market, stopping for a bite at the local tavern, friends and neighbors greet each other as usual but avoid the elephant sauntering around like he owns the place.

Anyone who thinks the mail-in-ballot fiasco in Broward County is over either isn't looking hard enough or doesn't want to know.
