Just in time for the final two months of the campaign, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is headed in the right direction to clinch Florida's 29 electoral votes, according to state GOP chairman Blaise Ingoglia.
 
"I think he's doing much better now than he was a month or so ago," Ingoglia said Thursday during an interview in downtown Tallahassee. "He's been staying on message, and he's been getting that message out."

With the National Football League (NFL) season kicking off on Thursday night, the Miami Dolphins, who haven’t been to the Super Bowl in more than three decades, remain the most popular pro football team in the Sunshine State. 

Public Policy Polling (PPP) unveiled a poll on Wednesday asking Floridians who their favorite NFL team was. The Dolphins led the pack with 20 percent of those surveyed saying Miami was their favorite NFL team. 

In second place in Florida was the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tampa Bay is the favorite NFL team of 15 percent of those surveyed.

Hundreds of trucks from all over the state headed north before Hurricane Hermine hit to prepare for power loss, but their services still remain unrendered, according to some in Tallahassee. Now people in the state’s capital city are still pondering the trucks' whereabouts six days after the storm blasted through the area, leaving nearly 100,000 people without power.
