In Spite of Obama EPA, 'Little Guy' Wins Property Rights Battle

The U.S. Supreme Court dealt President Obama's Environmental Protection Agency a blow on Wednesday.

According to CNN, the Supremes gave an Idaho couple another chance to challenge a government ruling barring construction of their "dream house," an important property rights defeat for the Obama administration.

Billionaire Bundler Susan Crown to Obama: Bye-Bye, I'm Backing Mitt Romney

Mitt Romney is looking to kick President Obama in the two places it will hurt him most -- his wallet and his home state. Romney's latest conquest is Obama's old pal, Susan Crown.

Crown says she is supporting a more pro-Israel candidate this year. Instead of supporting Barack Obama as she did in 2008, she's fundraising for Mitt Romney.

For Susan Bucher, Palm Beach County Elections Supervisor, Another Gaffe

Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher did it again.

She found a way to make an election aftermath scary-memorable.

Last Tuesday's election in Wellington is a mess, all races were tabulated incorrectly and guess what? They've already been certified. They're a done deal.

Voters who thought they were casting a ballot for the mayor, actually voted for a council seat 1 candidate; those who voted for the council seat 1 candidate didn't realize they were selecting for council seat 4; as for the mayor -- he got the council seat 4 votes.

Tim Tebow Back to Florida?

ESPN isn't hedging its bets. The sports network confidently says Peyton Manning is negotiating a contract with the Denver Broncos and the team will attempt to trade Tim Tebow. Period.

Good for Rep. Debbie Mayfield and Scripps TC Newspapers

I talk a lot about what mainstream media do wrong, so I don't want to forget to point it out when one among them does something right.

Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers -- the newspaper group that includes The Stuart News, The Port St. Lucie News, The Fort Pierce Tribune and the Vero Beach Press-Journal -- produced an editorial on Monday applauding state Rep. Debbie Mayfield, R-Vero Beach for saving Florida taxpayers $41.8 million.

Poor Public Employees? Not These Guys

Not-so-rich-folks who work for government wondered who wrecked the curve for them after they read my Monday column, "Public Employees' Pensions Can Sink the Ship."

I wrote this: "The majority of union members in America today are white-collared, college-educated and work for the government, where they receive an average of $123,049 annually in pay and benefits -- twice the average of workers in the private sector."

State Pension Watchdog: Legislature Missed Reform Chance

Seems I'm not alone in my concern for the direction and sustainability of Florida's retirement system. Robert McClure, a Ph.D. member of Floridians for Sustainable Pensions (FSP), has just released a statement on the opportunities lawmakers missed to deal with the crisis during the 2012 legislative session.

Sorry, U.K. Christians, You Have No Right to Wear Crosses to Work

We might speak the same language, but when it comes to social conservatism, don't even.

Get this:

Members of Parliament are about to fight a case at the European Court of Human Rights in which two British women want their right established to display the cross at work.

Did you get what I'm saying here? These British ministers will argue against the women.

Workers' Comp Dispensing Physicians Bill on a Wild Ride

Here's something cute:

Remember the bill that would impose a cap on how much workers' comp doctors could charge their patients for repackaged drugs they dispense? That bogus bill originating with the insurance industry was supposed to save the state money. When a growing number of senators didn't buy the trumped-up savings as advertised, the bill got scooped into a House bill. Anything to try to save it.

But listen to this:

Hey, Obama Super-PAC: What's Good for Rush Limbaugh Should Be Good for Bill Maher

Question: If you're offended at Rush Limbaugh calling Democratic activist Sandra Fluke a "slut," why weren't you offended when Bill Maher called former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and other Republican women much worse?

Answer: Because you're way liberal and Maher is way liberal, which makes that kind ofmisogynistic rhetoric "allowed."

Here, from a John McCormack piece in this week's The Weekly Standard, are a few of the words and antics the political comedian got so much mileage on:
