IT Company Expansion Expected to Bring 300 More Jobs to Panama City

Gov. Rick Scott today announced that information technology specialist iSirona, a company that provides solutions for medical device integration, will expand its operations in Panama City, creating 300 new jobs and a capital investment of $2.25 million.

St. Lucie County Opts Out of Seven50

St Lucie County commissioners voted 4-1 Thursday night to opt out of the Seven50 regional plan. They join Indian River and a number of municipalities in the northern reaches of the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council area in rejecting the seven Florida counties that would embrace a regional rather than local concept of planning the area's future.

Adam Putnam Announces Tax-Cutting, Other Initiatives in Florida Energy Summit Address

Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Adam Putnam announced Monday he will propose cutting in half the sales tax Florida businesses pay for electricity, a measure that will save them $250 million to innovate, expand and develop.

Speaking to some 450 participants at the Florida Eenergy Summit in Orlando Monday morning, Putnam said businesses now pay sales tax at a higher rate than residential users.
