Pam Bondi Files to Run Again as AG for 2014

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi filed to run for a second term on Monday.

Officially filed for re-elect this morning," Bondi posted on Twitter. Looking forward to continuing working hard and serving the people of Florida!

Bondi joins fellow Florida Republicans state CFO Jeff Atwater and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam in filing to run for a second term. So far Bondi is the only candidate in the race.

Tom Rooney Looks to Change Full-Time Employment Under Obama's Health Care Law

On Friday, U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., joined up with U.S. Rep. Todd Young, R-Ind., to unveil a bill looking to change the definition of full-time employment under the federal health-care law signed by President Barack Obama. Under the law, employees who work 30 or more hours are eligible for the federal program. Rooneys and Youngs bill would change that definition to 40 hours.

Rooney insisted that many businesses were forced to cut part-time workers hours due to this provision of the law.

Dennis Ross Looks to Limit NSA Data in New Bill

On Friday, U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., introduced a bill which would require the FBI to investigate specific groups or individuals and forces the NSA to limit collecting information to groups and people being investigated. Ross made it clear that his bill, which he dubbed the Relevancy Act, was a response to the FBI ordering Verizon to send all its caller information over to the NSA,

Jeff Miller Slams IRS and VA for Employee Bonuses

Immigration Reform Passes Senate But Faces Fight in the House

With Vice President Joe Biden presiding over the chamber, the U.S. Senate passed the immigration reform bill backed by the Gang of Eight. Both of Floridas two senators -- Democrat Bill Nelson and Republican Marco Rubio -- supported the bill. The final vote was 68-32.

Marco Rubio Conjures his Family, Ronald Reagan and Exodus in Immigration Close

Relating his familys history and invoking the Statue of Liberty and the biblical Exodus, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., closed on his immigration reform bill in a speech on the Senate floor on Thursday afternoon.
