Gov. Rick Scott signed nearly 100 bills into law on Friday. The bills dealt with a variety of subjects from flood insurance to banning the sale of e-cigarettes to minors. SB 542, sponsored by Sen. Jeff Brandes, R-St. Petersburg, wouldmake it easier for private companies to sell flood insurance in the state.Scott also signed a bill to tighten restrictions on charities to prevent fraud, an issue which was a top priority for Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam.

Earlier in the week, former Florida Sen. Ellyn Bogdanoff announced she was aiming for a rematch with Sachs who defeated her in 2012 in a rare match, pitting two Senate incumbents against each other after redistricting. In announcing his candidacy, Bensmihen pointed to his experience with spastic cerebral palsy and his work in charitable activities.

A poll from Public Policy Polling (PPP), a firm with connections to prominent Democrats, finds Clinton edges out former Gov. Jeb Bush, R-Fla., 46 percent to 45 percent in a potential 2016 matchup. A poll from Rasmussen Reports finds 90 percent of American adults know the words of the song while only 14 percent think it is too hard to sing. A strong majority -- 78 percent -- of those surveyed want to keep it as the national anthem. The poll of 1,000 American adults was taken from June 7-8 and had a margin of error of +/- 3 percent.
