The 'Voice of the People' Fallacy

We hear many fallacies in election years. The fallacy that seems to be most popular this year is that, if Donald Trump comes close to getting the 1,237 delegates required to become the Republican nominee, and that nomination goes instead to someone else, then the convention will have ignored "the voice of the people."

Businessman and Army veteran Todd Wilcox won a straw poll on Sunday as he continues his bid for the Republican nomination to replace U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in the Senate. 

The Republican Liberty Caucus of East Central Florida hosted two of the Republicans running for the U.S. Senate this past weekend as Wilcox and U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., came to the Space Coast and took part in the forum. Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera recorded a minute and a half statement from Israel.

Everglades National Park is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. And now the U.S. Postal Service will honor it with a setting-sun photograph of pinelands and grasses as the sixth of 16 Forever Stamp images to be revealed over a three-week period to celebrate the National Park Service’s 100th anniversary. The stamp was previewed in Washington, D.C. on Monday.

Federal Zika Funding Must Be Used Only For Zika

On Friday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., held a press conference and expressed his support for President Barack Obama’s proposal to spend $1.9 billion to battle Zika. Rubio stressed the funds should only be used to fight Zika.
