Why I'm Leaving the Libertarian Party and Joining the GOP

I will always espouse the ideals of libertarianism. I am a libertarian by nature and could not comprehend another way to bring about positive change in our society. However, I have learned over the course of several years that while the ideology is sound and right, the party that surrounds the ideology is no better than any other and in some ways can never bring about the change we need.

On Tuesday, the U.S. House passed without opposition a resolution from two Florida representatives urging Germany to “fulfill its moral responsibility to Holocaust survivors and urgently provide the financial resources necessary to ensure that Survivors live in dignity and comfort in their remaining years.”

Anti-Rail Expansion Group Set to Issue Report Cards Grading Candidates on All Aboard Florida

The Coalition Against Rail Expansion in Florida (CARE FL), created by a group of concerned community leaders, organizations and neighbors in the Treasure Coast and north Palm Beach County regions, announced Tuesday a survey has been sent to candidates seeking public office in those regions. CARE FL wants to find out where candidates stand on rail expansion and will communicate the answers to the community in a “report card.”

Gwen Margolis' Donald Trump Moment

What's up with Gwen Margolis? You have to ask yourself, has the 81-year-old Democratic state senator from Miami-Dade -- first female president of the Florida Senate -- completely lost her political filter?

Or is she purposely taking a page from the Donald Trump Book of Campaign Success and Savvy?

By all accounts, Margolis had what folks are already calling "a Trumpian moment" Monday night at the Sunny Isles Democratic Club monthly meeting.

A new poll shows Marco Rubio will have a tough fight if he runs for a second term in the Senate. 

While Rubio closed the door to running for a second term, pressure is building on him to run again. Republican leaders including presumptive presidential candidate Donald Trump, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky and the NRSC have been pushing Rubio to seek another term. 

Florida Up for Grabs in November, Poll Shows

Florida, the largest swing state on the map, will be up for grabs in November, a new poll shows. 

Democratic aligned Public Policy Polling (PPP) released a poll on Tuesday showing the Sunshine State is very close. Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump edges like Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton 45 percent to 44 percent in the poll.
