December 8, 2011 - 6:00pm

Even as the main events for the 2011 legislative session got started in earnest this week, sideshows seemed intent to steal center stage.

Jon Huntsman Hails NLRB Decision to Drop Complaint Against Boeing

GOP presidential hopeful Jon Huntsman said Friday that the National Labor Relations Board decision to drop its lawsuit against Boeing "was a victory in a battle that should have never been fought."

The NLRB filed a complaint against Boeing in March accusing the aerospace company of establishing a nonunion production line in South Carolina in retaliation against union workers in Washington state for past strikes, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Heritage to Congress: Means-Test Entitlements and Flatten Taxes

December 8, 2011 - 6:00pm

A new study on federal spending gives Republicans fiscal ammunition to fight Democrats' relentless push for tax hikes on Capitol Hill. It also gives Democrats a tool to go after "rich" retirees.

The failure of the budget supercommittee to agree on $1.2 trillion in deficit-reduction measures over 10 years has intensified pressure on the GOP to embrace "revenue enhancements."
