ABC News jumped out in front of other fact-checkers on Friday, exposing President Barack Obama's "false claim" that the Fast and Furious program began under President George W. Bush.

It did not. In fact, the program began nine months into the Obama administration, in October 2009, and the network's online website "Political Punch" was the first to check the president's statement and set the record straight.

Rick Scott Names Thomas Portuallo to 7th Judicial Circuit

Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Judge Thomas Portuallo, of Flagler Beach, to the 7th Judicial Circuit Court.

Portuallo, 50, has served as a judge of compensation claims for the Daytona Beach district since 1996.

For the past 16 years, Judge Portuallo has gained a reputation as a diligent, fair jurist who strictly adheres to the law as enacted by the Legislature. I am confident he will continue doing so as a circuit court judge, Scott stated in a release.

The Florida State Revenue Limitation Amendment (Amendment 3), if approved by 60 percent of the voters, would change the way the state calculates limitations on the amount of revenue it can raise each year.
