And since his election, some Tallahassee insiders often privately have complained that the governor wouldn't meet with representatives of some of the traditional interest groups that in the past enjoyed more access to state officials.

Unemployment Mark Holds at 8.8 Percent in August

Employment in the Sunshine State held steady this summer, maintaining an 8.8 percent rate for the second month, according to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity on Friday.

While the percentage didnt change, the August numbers included 28,000 new private-sector jobs, the largest month-to-month increase since April 2011, the state job agency reported.

Rick Scott, Rick Perry, Scott Walker on Fox for Mitt Romney

Florida Gov. Rick Scott, Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker pushed the campaign for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Friday as they highlighted their own tax-cutting efforts of their states as opposed to action by the federal government job creation.
