Besides playing a large role in pushing immigration reform, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fl, continues to attack President Barack Obamas healthcare law in recent days. Responding to a constituent on Friday, Rubio continued to attack the law and showcased his proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution to gut it.

Trey Radel's Amendment to NDAA on Civil Liberties Passes

U.S. Rep. Trey Radel, R-Fla., offered an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) to ensure the Defense Department makes an annual report to Congress on American citizens facing military detention. The House passed Radels amendment without opposition.
Radel took to the floor of Congress this week to slam recent presidential administrations handling of civil liberties.

On Friday, Gov. Rick Scott announced the federal government--namely the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS)--gave final approval to offer managed care programs to every county in the state. Back in 2006, the state launched a five county pilot based on the First Coast and in Broward County.

Reverse Mortgage Reforms Praised by Florida Congresswoman

U.S. Rep.Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., weighed in on Thursday on the House granting more seniors protection when they use the Federal Housing Administrations (FHA) Reverse Mortgage loan protection program. The bill will cut down on seniors overborrowing.
Ros-Lehtinen stressed that Republicans and Democrats from both chambers supported the bill and that it had the White Houses backing.
