Somehow -- doubtfully by the grace of God, but somehow -- the bill that would allow a 5 mph speed-limit increase on some Florida roads now awaits the governor's pleasure. Not imminently, but eventually.

WASHINGTON -- The Democrats are portraying the not-yet-even constituted House Select Committee on Benghazi as nothing but a partisan exercise.
They are even considering boycotting the hearings to delegitimize them.
Former Gov. Charlie Crist, the favorite for the Democratic nomination to challenge Gov. Rick Scott despite spending most of his political life as a Republican, opened the door to visiting Cuba this summer.
U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., introduced the Stop Punishing Innocent Taxpayers Act (HR 4491) on Friday. Buchanan, who sits on the Ways and Means Committee, insists his bill would stop the IRS from going after the relatives of Social Security recipients who received overpayments. The bill would restore a statute of limitations on federal debts to a 10-year period. Currently around 400,000 Americans who owe around $714 million from Social Security overpayments are being investigated by the federal government.

The Congressional Leadership Fund, a super-PAC looking to ensure Republicans keep the U.S. House, went after U.S. Rep. Joe Garcia, D-Fla., for opposing creating a House committee to investigate the Obama administrations handling of the Benghazi attacks in September 2012 in which four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed. Garcia is a top target for Republicans in November with major candidates, including Miami Dade School Board member Carlos Curbelo and former U.S. Rep. David Rivera, R-Fla., running for the GOP nomination.

Congressional candidate and avid role-player Jake Rush made an appearance on the "Colbert Report" Thursday evening, speaking to the comedian about Florida's 3rd Congressional District, his political aspirations, and his role-playing habit.
Rush gained notoriety across the state and nationwide when reports surfaced that he was an avid, live-action role-player. Rush, however, doesn't seem to think it's too big of a deal.
