As dawn breaks Wednesday, the world is seeing what a tourist-dependent island nation looks like when a powerful hurricane smashes it to bits: mile upon mile of flooded neighborhoods, shredded homes and businesses, overturned boats and vehicles, and trees stripped of vegetation. 

Like Mexico Beach during Hurricane Michael, only Dorian had lashed the islands at major-hurricane strength for an unprecedented 36 hours.

CNN, the 24/7 news network that actively seeks the president's impeachment, has spent the last three days denouncing Sarah Huckabee Sanders as a "despicable liar" and FOX News for hiring her as a contributor.

Apparently, say The Miami Herald and other newspapers that collaborated on the story, Gov. Ron DeSantis is set to announce the appointment of new Chief Resilience Officer Julia Nesheiwat. Maybe as early as today.

As a Republican, I should just sit back smugly and watch. If the Democrats want to keep moving hard left on immigration, I should just keep my mouth shut and let them get on with it.
