Florida's GOP Senate Hopefuls Line Up Against Obamacare

More than five years after President Barack Obama signed his signature health-care proposal into law, Republicans looking to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate continue to oppose it. On Thursday, the  Independent Women’s Voice announced that U.S. Rep. David Jolly, R-Fla., signed its pledge to repeal Obama’s health-care law. Jolly is running for the Republican nomination to replace U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., in 2016. 

Volunteer Florida Spreads Almost $20 Million to AmeriCorps Projects Across State

Volunteer Florida announced Thursday it received almost $20 million to fund 30 AmeriCorps projects across the Sunshine State. 

Most of the funds -- $10.6 million -- comes from federal grants from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), while $9.35 million of that comes from local grants. 
 
Volunteer Florida CEO Chester Spellman said the funds would help projects across Florida.
