Former Gov. Buddy Roemer of Louisiana has made political reform the chief issue of his dark-horse presidential bid and not international affairs, but he weighed in on foreign policy this week when he ripped into President Barack Obamas handling of relations with China. While Roemer, who served in the U.S. House before his term as governor, has pulled out of running for the Republican presidential nomination, he is still in the mix for the Reform Partys nomination and that of Americans Elect.

Central Florida residents close to Cape Canaveral have a chance to catch the launch of an Atlas 5 Thursday afternoon. A two-hour window is set between 2:46 p.m. and 4:46 p.m. EDT for the rocket carrying the Air Force's second Advanced AEHF communications satellite. Weather conditions are 80 percent in favor of a launch, according to meteorologists at the Air Force 45th Space Wing Weather Squadron.

A poll released by Quinnipiac University on Thursday shows that its close in Florida between President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, the heavy favorite to win the Republican presidential nomination. The new Q-Poll has Romney taking 44 percent while Obama follows with 43 percent. A similar poll from Quinnipiac, released at the end of March, showed Obama with a solid lead over Romney in Florida, taking 49 percent while the former Massachusetts governor trailed with 42 percent.

Gov. Rick Scott posted photos of his ninth Lets Get to Work day on his Facebook page. Scott spent the morning Wednesday at IMG Citrus Phoenix Grove and packinghouse in the Indian River County community of Fellsmere.
