Atlas Launch set for Thursday Afternoon at Cape Canaveral

Central Florida residents close to Cape Canaveral have a chance to catch the launch of an Atlas 5 Thursday afternoon.

A two-hour window is set between 2:46 p.m. and 4:46 p.m. EDT for the rocket carrying the Air Force's second Advanced AEHF communications satellite.

Weather conditions are 80 percent in favor of a launch, according to meteorologists at the Air Force 45th Space Wing Weather Squadron.
