Rubio Easily Besting Murphy, Grayson

A new poll is showing Marco Rubio routing two Democratic congressmen as the GOP looks to hold onto a Senate seat in Florida. 

Quinnipiac University released a poll on Thursday morning showing Rubio ahead of Patrick Murphy 50 percent to 37 percent. Rubio also leads Alan Grayson 50 percent to 38 percent.

Peter Brown, the assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll, noted that Rubio deciding to run for a second term at the last minute, despite promising not to run again, hasn't hurt him. 

High Profile Developer Backs Medical Marijuana Operation

Panhandle developer Jay Odom is bankrolling a Northeast Florida operation licensed by health officials to grow, process and distribute non-euphoric marijuana products, a lawyer for Chestnut Hill Tree Farm confirmed Wednesday.

Odom was sentenced to six months in prison three years ago after pleading guilty in a 2007 scheme to funnel $23,000 in campaign contributions through employees or their family members to a presidential candidate.

Florida's Orange Crop Drops 16 Percent

Florida's citrus industry, struggling in a battle against a fatal citrus disease, will have a little bit sweeter season than projected in an initial forecast.

However, the outlook for the state's orange crop continues to be troubling.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's final forecast for the 2015-2016 citrus growing season, released Tuesday, projected that Florida will produce enough oranges to fill 81.5 million 90-pound boxes.
