Florida Still Can't Access DHS Citizenship Database

Gov. Rick Scott is more than a little miffed.

Nearly a month has passed, according to a statement from his office, since the U.S. Department of Homeland Security agreed to grant Florida access to the federal citizenship database (also known as the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements database, or SAVE). But Florida still cannot access the SAVE system.

That means with less than three months to go before the general election, the state remains unable to identify and remove noncitizens from the voting rolls.

In volatile Florida -- alive with issues percolating for the next legislative session -- lobbyists are throwing money around like Abu Dhabi sheiks at a Kentucky Derby after-party -- albeit under the cover of super-PAC darkness.

Is Obama Hoping a Python will Swallow Up His Economic Failures?

You know that old adage: when the economy is in the tank, tour the Everglades? Well, no, we don't either, but the lefties sure do -- I can still picture a tanned and smiling Gov. Charlie Crist with the beautiful sawgrass swaying in the breeze behind him.

With new poll numbers showing perceptions of the economy in the toilet, here comes the president tossing out the Everglades card for the second time in two weeks, sending Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar for a 'Glades photo op.

Washingtonians: Rick Scott Rocks, Barack Obama Shocks

While Democrats in Florida continue to look for ways to cash in on Rick Scott's low approval numbers, since Saturday a lot of folks in D.C. are looking at the Florida governor with a whole lot more admiration and respect than he's getting currently in the Sunshine State.

It's his travel philosophy they like. And it's President Obama's that has these folks pitching fits.

Seems last Saturday President Obama commissioned Air Force One to travel 90 miles from the White House to a campaign rally near Richmond, Va., a location only 90 miles away.
