Kevin Derby Out, Eric Giunta In at Sunshine State News

Kevin Derby, associate editor of Sunshine State News, has resigned his position at the news organization to join the Florida Chamber of Commerce ascommunications coordinator. His last day at the News will be Aug. 10.

Derby has been with Sunshine State News since its inception in February 2010.

Meanwhile, Eric Giunta, Esq., 28, will join the News Monday as chief legal correspondent. Giunta is a member of the Florida Bar. He was born in Chicago, raised in South Florida and graduated from Florida State University College of Law. At FSU he served as president of that school's chapter of the nation's premier fellowship of conservative and libertarian law students.

Giunta has had pieces published in LewRockwell.com, Human Events, LifeSiteNews, RenewAmerica.com, and FrontPage Magazine, and his editorial commentary has been cited in the pages of The New York Times, The Daily Telegraph (UK), Politics Daily, and The Tampa Bay Times.

In announcing Derby's appointment, Edie Ousley, vice president of public affairs for the Florida Chamber, said, "Kevin's knowledge and experience in communicating to diverse audiences will advance the breadth, depth and results of the Florida Chamber of Commerce."

Sunshine State News Executive Editor Nancy Smith said, "Kevin will be sorely missed. He has a deep understanding of Florida history, its politics, its regional differences and much more. He is a devotee of sound, conservative principles. We certainly wish him well at the chamber."
