Florida TaxWatch: Fishing Boosts Florida's Economy by $5 Billion

Florida TaxWatch released an economic study on Tuesday which finds Floridas fishing industry leads to $5 billion annually for the Sunshine State. The study finds that more than half of that comes from indirect sales and expenses. More than 1.2 million tourists have already come to Florida to fish so far in 2013.

"Florida's unique location and variety of fishing opportunities position the state as the world leader in sport fishing tourism," said Dominic Calabro, the president and CEO of Florida TaxWatch, on Tuesday.

Marco Rubio to Campaign for Ken Cuccinelli in Virginia

David Catanese over at the Run is reporting that U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., will be helping out Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinellis gubernatorial bid. Rubio is not the only potential Republican presidential candidate looking at getting involved in the race. Catanese is reporting that U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and U.S. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will also be helping the Republican candidate.

Cuccinelli is engaged in a close contest with Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe.

Rand Paul Goes to Bat for Political Training Event in Tampa

The Campaign for Liberty, chaired by former U.S. Rep. Ron Paul, will be holding a political training event in Tampa on Sept. 14. Over the weekend, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., one of the leading Republican presidential possibilities in 2016, pitched the event in an email sent out by the Florida Campaign for Liberty.

Allen West Attacks Obama as 'Progressive Socialist' Following Karl Marx's Game Plan

On Monday morning, former U.S. Rep. Allen West, who has opened the door to a political comeback in 2016, hammered President Barack Obama as a progressive socialist and attacked his record on education. West also linked Obama to segregationist Democrats from the civil rights era like former Gov. George Wallace of Alabama and former Gov. Lester Maddox of Georgia, insisted Obama was following Karl Marxs playbook and added that Martin Luther King would stand with Republicans if he were alive today.

Allen West: 'We Have a Problem in the Black Community'

Former U.S. Rep. Allen West weighed in late on Thursday on two black teens beating a World War II veteran in Washington state.

Reprehensible and disgusting, West posted on Facebook. Two black male teenagers are being sought in the beating death of 88-year-old Delbert Benton. Mr. Benton was an Army WWII veteran who survived combat during the bloody Battle of Okinawa.
