The latest jab at Braswell is called "8 Things That Lasted Longer Than Allie Braswell's CFO Campaign" and highlights, through animated GIF form, all the pop culture and political stories that had longer lives than the Orlando Democrat's bid for CFO.

On Monday, Gov. Rick Scott announced Unipharma, a pharmaceutical company, will move from Venezuela to Tamarac creating 100 jobs and $50 million in new investments. We are excited to announce that Unipharma has chosen to locate their pharmaceutical headquarters in Broward County, Scott said. Floridas unemployment rate is below the national average and weve created more than 333,000 private-sector jobs since December 2010. The jobs being created by Unipharma are another example that its working in Florida.

We advised Mr. Braswell to slow down so he could better prepare, said spokesman for the Florida Democratic Party Joshua Karp. He was very eager to announce and its clear now he was unprepared for mounting this kind of campaign.

Allie Braswell withdrew Monday from his campaign to be Florida's next chief financial officer, according to reports. Braswell, a Democrat, had been in the race for less than a week. Current CFO Jeff Atwater's camp did not sound too concerned about Braswell entering the race.

State officials are considering the idea of raising toll rates on I-95 from $1 to $1.50 due to the fact that too many drivers are willing to pay the current toll rate when congestion is at its worst on Florida highways. "What that tells us is that a lot of folks are accepting the express lanes concept and are using them more frequently," Diane Gutierrez-Scaccetti, executive director of Florida's Turnpike, told Sun Sentinel.

Americans overwhelmingly believe that the U.S. is failing to win the so-called war on drugs, but a new poll of likely American voters show they are much more divided on how much the U.S. should be spending on it. The new Rasmussen Reports poll showed only 4 percent of likely voters believe the U.S. is winning the war on drugs, while a whopping 82 percent disagree. Only 13 percent of voters are undecided.

Gov. Rick Scott's office announced Thursday afternoon that on Tuesday the governor and Sen. Joe Negron, R-Stuart, will tour the St. Lucie lock and dam on the St. Lucie River in Stuart -- scene of massive discharges of polluted fresh water, sent east from Lake Okeechobee. The discharges,called "lethal" by local residents, are widely blamed for what ails the now-lifeless St. Lucie Estuary.
