Associated Industries of Florida Responds to July Job Growth

The Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) spoke out on Florida's job growth for the month of July in a statement released Friday, praising Gov. Rick Scott for an increase in jobs for July.

The job growth numbers and unemployment rate released today are a direct result of pro-business and job-creation policies. Thriving Florida businesses are the source of job growth in our state, said Tom Feeney, president and CEO of AIF. The governors dedication to creating an environment that fosters business development and attracts new businesses to our state has proven to be the turning point for Floridas economic recovery.

On Friday, the Department of Economic Opportunity announced that Florida had added 35,400 private-sector jobs. The unemployment rate for the Sunshine State remained flat at 7.1 percent, but still stayed below the national average by 0.3 percentage points.

As the Voice of Florida Business, AIF represents more than 10,000 member organizations working to create jobs and grow our economy, said Feeney. On behalf of our members, were proud to have the leadership and dedication of Governor Scott in putting Florida back to work.
