Florida legislators duked out a bill to raise speed limits in Florida on Tuesday, and a new report released by the Scripps Florida Investigative Team found several lawmakers have a heavier foot than others. The team pulled legislators' driving records and found several have racked up more than just a few driving violations over the years -- some have even racked up over 40 while driving around in the Sunshine State.

A bill to regulate craft beer breweries passed through the Florida Senate on Thursday, approved by legislators by a 30-10 vote. SB 1714, sponsored by Sen. Kelli Stargel, R-Lakeland, would restrict the amount of packaged beer breweries can sell to customers.

Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Cutler Bay, will be the next chairman of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus, starting on Thursday with his term ending at the end of next years session. He replaces Rep. Over half of voters continue to oppose federal regulation of the Internet and also feel Internet users are best protected by the free market, not the government, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll. The telephone survey found 18 percent of likely U.S. voters believe the Federal Communications Commission should regulate the Internet like it does radio and television.

A bill to direct the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to conduct a study and submit a report on expanding the use of reclaimed water in Florida passed through the Florida Legislature Monday. SB 536, sponsored by Sen. Wilton Simpson, R-Trilby, would permit the two agencies to study and submit a report on broadening the use of reclaimed water in Florida, including storm-water and excess surface water.

The 2014 PayScale College Return on Investment Report is out and two universities from the Sunshine State garner high marks for their computer science programs. Using salary data and comparing it with cost and alumni earnings, PayScale finds the University of Floridas computer science degree offers the best return in the state on investment annually with the University of North Florida (UNF) right behind it in the second spot. UNF leads the state over a 20-year return on investment for its computer science degree.

It's the final week of session in Tallahassee and the final push to give school vouchers a second chance in the Sunshine State. An amendment proposed by Sen. Bill Galvano, R-Bradenton, would change accountability measures for private schools accepting vouchers. The amendment could ultimately bring SB 1512 back to life. Galvano's amendment would also require FSU's Learning System Institute to measure the performance of students on scholarships on national tests.
