Bullard Replaces Williams as Black Caucus Chairman
Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Cutler Bay, will be the next chairman of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus, starting on Thursday with his term ending at the end of next years session. He replaces Rep. Alan Williams, D-Tallahassee.
Im thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the Legislative Black Caucus chair, Bullard said on Tuesday. We have made incredible strides thus far and I look forward to continuing to elevate the dialogue and needs of our diverse caucus.
Im thankful to my colleagues for entrusting me with the chairmanship of the Black Caucus for this next year, Bullard added. Its my hope that both House and Senate members will join me in engaging communities throughout Florida and move the agenda of African-Americans forward. I also look forward to input from the community on tackling issues at the local, state and even national level. Im grateful for the vote of confidence and excited to get to work.
