Florida is a hub for tourists, but just how many have been to the Sunshine State this year? On Thursday, Gov. Rick Scott announced that, according to preliminary estimates released today by VISIT FLORIDA, 26.7 million visitors came to Florida in the first quarter of 2014 (January-March), an increase of 2 percent over the same period in 2013. This number is the the largest quarter for visitation Florida has ever experienced, exceeding the previous high of 26.2 million in the first quarter of 2013.

Conservative pundit Sean Hannity, best known for his show on Fox News and his syndicated national radio show, will soon be moving to the Sunshine State. Hannity has been talking about leaving high-tax New York for Florida in recent months and, on his radio show on Wednesday, he said he was going to move after his kid finishes high school. Based on previous comments, Hannity is expected to relocate to the Naples area. "You're soon going to be my senator," Hannity told U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., during an interview with the possible 2016 presidential candidate.

Gov. Rick Scott will head to Tampa on Thursday to make an announcement on tourism in Florida. According to a release from the governor's office, Scott will speak at Busch Gardens at 10:30 a.m. Tourism is a booming business in Florida -- approximately 94.7 million visitors came to the state in 2013, making it a record year for visitation to Florida and exceeding the previous high of 91.5 million in 2012.

Rick Scott announced that the United States Tennis Association (USTA) will build a new facility at Lake Nona in Orlando, bringing more than $60 million to Central Florida and creating 154 new jobs.
