The stakes will be high in Las Vegas as nine Republican presidential candidates get ready to engage in Tuesday night’s main event as CNN hosts the fifth round of debates.

The race has changed considerably in recent weeks as terrorism replaced the economy as the top issue for many Republican voters after the Paris and San Bernardino attacks. Donald Trump still remains at the top of the polls but Ted Cruz has broken from the pack to be his top challenger, overtaking him in some surveys of Iowa which holds the first caucus in seven weeks. 

New Bill Adds Penalties, New Requirements for Concealed Carry Permit Holders

The 2016 legislative session is gearing up to be the year of gun bills, with a new bill proposing heightened requirements for concealed carry permit applicants being introduced this week.

 A new proposal requiring concealed carry permit holders to carry their concealed weapons permits and state they're carrying a concealed weapon if approached by a first responder is being introduced in time for the 2016 legislative session.

Recently, a minor change to the business agenda of the South Florida Water Management District Governing Board’s monthly meeting streamlined protocols for public comment. Previously, public comment was heard on each and every agenda item. Public comment continues to be welcomed on all voting items before the board. Comment on general topics and non-voting issues is now heard separately, with the same three-minute time limit that applies to all speakers.
