Surprise, Surprise: Americans' Trust in Mainstream Media Sinks to New Low

Here's a poll you won't see widely in Florida mainstream media -- because, frankly, the press is either in deep denial or it's looking for a way to smear it in lipstick. But here it is, released Wednesday by Gallup:  "Americans' trust and confidence in the mass media 'to report the news fully, accurately and fairly' has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history, with 32 percent (of respondents) saying they have a great deal or fair amount of trust in the media."

Backroom Briefing: Rights Restoration Could Head to Ballot

Nearly eight years after Gov. Rick Scott and the Florida Cabinet did away with quasi-automatic restoration of civil rights, voters may have a chance to approve a constitutional amendment that would automatically restore voting rights for non-violent felons.
 
Supporters of the proposal have gathered enough signatures to trigger a review from the Florida Supreme Court, whose approval is required for the initiative to make it onto the 2018 ballot.
