Poll: Republicans Lead in All Cabinet Races

The United Faculty of Miami Dade College has just released polling results showing Republicans ahead of Democrats in all three Cabinet races.

It also shows a trend other polls have been showing -- of Rick Scott leading Alex Sink for governor.

Gubernatorial:
Rick Scott: 51.5
Alex Sink: 46.0

CFO Race:
Jeff Atwater: 55.3
Loranne Ausley: 40.4

Attorney General:
Pam Bondi: 52.5
Dan Gelber: 43.2

Commissioner of Agriculture:
Adam Putnam: 50.7
Scott Maddox: 44.4

Amendment 8 Opponents Fight Against Class Size Change

Two weeks after supporters of Amendment 8 began a campaign to urge Floridians to vote in favor of the constitutional change that would relax caps on class sizes, opponents of the measure are fighting back.

On Tuesday, the Florida Association of Licensed Investigators (FALI), representing more than 650 private investigators, backed U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam, the Republican candidate to be Floridas next commissioner of agriculture and consumer services.

Pam Bondi Vows to Fight Domestic Violence

On Tuesday, former Assistant State Attorney Pam Bondi, the Republican candidate for attorney general, focused on domestic violence issues.

Bondi played up her experience as a prosecutor and stressed that the next attorney general would lead the Statewide Domestic Fatality Review Team which reviews fatal and near-fatal domestic violence incidents.

Florida TaxWatch Releases Study on Amendment 4

Florida TaxWatch released a study on Tuesday attempting to portray the economic impact if Florida voters back Amendment 4 come November. The study contends that the measure could cost Florida more than $1 billion a year with between $45 million and $83 million spent on special election costs that, the study insists, would be necessary if the amendment is adopted.

Just in time for Halloween: Amendment 4 Ad Hits Airwaves

A new TV ad is airing for Amendment 4, complete with horror-movie soundtrack.

Singling out "special interests" and "zombie" developers, the spot aims squarely at builder bailouts and other scary culprits in Florida's disastrous housing bubble.

Not a word, however, about comprehensive plans or other technical facets of the Florida Hometown Democracy initiative.

Closing message to voters: "Drive a stake through the heart of the special interests."

Jeb Bush: 'Charlie Crist Should Be Ashamed' of Ad Attacking Rubio

Former Gov. Jeb Bush took Gov. Charlie Crist to task for a new television ad, accusing Marco Rubio, the governors Republican rival in the U.S. Senate election, of looking to slash Social Security benefits.

Charlie Crist should be ashamed of his false attack against Marco Rubio on Social Security, said Bush in a statement sent out by the Rubio campaign. Charlie Crist is purposely trying to scare seniors in order to win votes.
