Florida TaxWatch Releases Study on Amendment 4
Florida TaxWatch released a study on Tuesday attempting to portray the economic impact if Florida voters back Amendment 4 come November. The study contends that the measure could cost Florida more than $1 billion a year with between $45 million and $83 million spent on special election costs that, the study insists, would be necessary if the amendment is adopted.
Instead of adopting Amendment 4 and spending tens of millions, if not hundreds of millions, of taxpayers hard-earned money annually on expensive elections, likely lawsuits and unnecessary overhead, Florida should invest in early learning for its children and youth, high-quality education, public safety, and modern infrastructure which would allow Floridians to compete and prosper in the 21st century, said Dominic Calabro, president and CEO of the organization.
