Rick Scott recommends Medicaid recipients join managed-care plans in his budget, health care companies in Florida announced Friday the release of a new website and videos designed to show the public and the Legislature the positive impact of their health plans.

Gov. Rick Scott Sells State Planes

Fulfilling a campaign promise and following through on one of his first official acts after being sworn in, Gov. Rick Scott approved the sale of two state planes Friday.

The planes were sold for a total of $3.6 million. Scott issued an executive order his first week in office announcing his intention to sell the planes. The annual costs to the state for the planes were $2.4 million, and the sale will save Florida $560,000 this year. Scott has been using his own private plan to get around Florida.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty to Hit Florida Next Week

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a possible 2012 Republican presidential hopeful, will address Florida legislators Wednesday in Tallahassee.

His visit is to be the first of many for 2012 Republican presidential candidates, as Senate President Mike Haridopolos, R-Merritt Island, has invited all prospective GOP candidates to address the Florida Legislature.
