Daily Outrage: Judges OK Workers' Comp for Illegal Alien

Seems that everyone except judges is scratching their head over a Florida court ruling that allows an illegal alien to collect workers' compensation benefits.

A panel of the 1st District Court of Appeal in Tallahassee ruled on Tuesday that Luis Aragon was entitled to benefits after falling from a roof at a Jacksonville job site, suffering injuries to his foot and arm.

George LeMieux Jabs Obama and Bill Nelson on NASA Jobs

Former U.S. Sen. George LeMieux, now in a crowded Republican primary field to take on Democratic U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson in 2012, is looking to make political hay out of the last space shuttle flight which is scheduled for Friday.

This Friday is schedule to be Titusvilles last shuttle flight, noted LeMieux on Tuesday. As a U.S. senator, I will fight for NASA and the 23,000 space jobs. Unfortunately, Senator Nelson and President Obama are content to let these jobs disappear.

The next three speakers of the Florida House announced Wednesday that they are backing former Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012.

Incoming Speaker Will Weatherford, R-Wesley Chapel, was named a co-chair of the state Pawlenty team while Rep. Chris Dorworth, R-Heathrow, and Rep. Richard Corcoran, R-New Port Richey, will serve as regional chairmen of the campaign.

Scott to Trumpet Port Terminal in Jobs Hunt

Gov. Rick Scott will add 200 more jobs to his tally this week when he trumpets the opening of Keystone Terminal at the port in Jacksonville, and the terminals first customer, Vulcan Materials.

While the jobs, to be announced in a celebration ceremony on Wednesday at the terminal, will be created on Scotts watch, theyre like some others the governor has claimed credit for in that theyve been in the works since long before he was elected.
