George LeMieux, Mike McCalister Rap Bill Nelson Over Marco Rubio 'Tip'

Two more Republican candidates joined the growing chorus criticizing Sen. Bill Nelson's use of office staff to jab fellow Sen. Marco Rubio.

Commenting on Sunshine State News' story about Nelson spokesman Dan McLaughlin alerting a Florida newspaper to an opinion poll on Rubio, George LeMieux's campaign spokeswoman Anna Nix said:

"Bill Nelson isnt going to pull his approval ratings up by pushing Senator Marco Rubio down. Nelsons approval ratings clearly show Floridians think its time for a change in the U.S. Senate.

Telemundo Announces Hispanic-Focused GOP Debate

As Spanish-language rival Univisions plans for a Republican presidential debate for late January remain in turmoil, Telemundo is going to grab for the political spotlight.

The Miami-based Telemundo announced plans Thursday for a GOP presidential debate in early December from Las Vegas.

The location is key as Nevada, like Florida, is an early primary state with a growing Hispanic population.

Adam Hasner: Bill Nelson 'Wants Taxpayers to Foot Bill for Campaign'

Today's Sunshine State News report on Sen. Bill Nelson's spokesman tipping a newspaper about a Marco Rubio poll drew this comment from GOP senatorial candidate Adam Hasner's camp:

The news that Senator Nelson is using his official Senate staff in his re-election effort shouldnt surprise anyone, said Hasner spokesmen Doug Mayer. For years he has put his own political preservation ahead of Florida, including voting in lockstep support of the Obama administration 98 percent of the time.

Mitt Romney Leads Herman Cain, Ron Paul in New Hampshire Poll

On Friday, Magellan Strategies/NH Journal released a poll of likely New Hampshire Republican primary voters that found that former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts was well ahead of the rest of the pack ofGOP presidential hopefuls in the first primary state.

Romney led the poll with 41 percent. Following his win in the Presidency 5 straw poll in Orlando last month, businessman Herman Cain continues to surge in the polls, placing second with 20 percent. U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas took third with 10 percent.

An Economist/YouGov poll released on Friday found that businessman Herman Cain continues to gain momentum in the race for the Republican presidential nomination and has a solid lead over former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts. The poll had Cain taking 33 percent followed by Romney with 18 percent and Texas Gov. Rick Perry in third with 10 percent. Former U.S. House Speaker Newt Gingrich garnered 9 percent followed by U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas with 7 percent, former Gov.

U.S. Orders More Florida Counties to Provide Spanish Voter Services

Four more Florida counties have been ordered to provide Spanish-language services to voters in a policy that a national pro-English group calls "ridiculous."

The addition of Lee, Osceola, Palm Beach and Polk counties brings to 10 the number of counties required to furnish Spanish translations and assistance under the federal Voting Rights Act.

Broward, Hardee, Hendry, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade and Orange counties remain on the list.

The requirements -- all unfunded federal mandates -- come at untold added expense to the state and affected local jurisdictions.

Ron Paul Stands Against Abortion in New Ad

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, continuing his bid for the Republican presidential nomination, has launched a new television ad in which he talks about his opposition to abortion. The ad notes that Paul, who is a medical doctor, delivered more than 4,000 babies -- but also witnessed events that reinforced his pro-life principles.

Spain Signs Pact to Locate Joint Space Venture in Florida

Space Florida and Spain's aerospace institute have entered into an agreement that will lead to a joint venture company locating in the Sunshine State.

Frank DiBello, head of Space Florida, and Jaime Denis, director general of the Instituto Nacional de Tnica Aeroespacial (INTA), signed a memorandum of understanding Thursday to jointly pursue aerospace ventures.
