Mitt Romney Has Winning Creds, Florida Gov. Rick Scott Tells Candy Crowley of CNN
Asked Sunday morning which GOP candidate he backs for the presidential nomination, Florida Gov. Rick Scott -- though inspecific -- said Mitt Romney has the winning credentials.
"We need jobs," Scott told Candy Crowley during an interview on CNN's State of the Union, "that's the message that every candidate in the campaign should be shouting out every day. They're not, but that's what people want to hear, and Romney does have real business experience.
"Job-creating business experience," the governor reiterated.

Seminole Physician Sentenced in Pain Pill Operation
A Seminole County physician has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for trafficking in prescription pain pills including oxycodone.
The attorney general's office announced that Jose Carlos Menendez-Campos, who had been working out of a Physician Care Associates office in Poinciana, must also pay a $500,000 fine for the investigation andprosecutorial costs.

Scott Names Rodriguez to 9th Judicial Circuit
Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Maitland resident Heather Pinder Rodriguez to the 9th Judicial Circuit Court.
Heathers commitment to the rule of law has been strengthened by the opportunities she has had to witness firsthand the atrocities possible without it, Scott stated in a release. Her dedication to her community and willingness to work hard will serve her well on the bench.

Scott Names Keyser to 15th Judicial Circuit Court
Gov. Rick Scott appointed Judge Gregory M. Keyser to the 15th Judicial Circuit Court.
Since serving on the county bench, Judge Keyser has gained invaluable insight into the patience and fairness needed in the judicial process, Scott stated in a release. His previous 30 years of practicing law have given him a good understanding of the issues facing the people of the 15th Circuit.

Judge Keyser, 56, has served on the Palm Beach County Court since 2011.

Gov. Rick Scott has reappointed Gail Kavanagh and Jerry H. Sansom to the Florida Inland Navigation District board of governors.

"Kavanagh, 69, of Port St. Lucie, is the executive vice president of Treasure Coast Builders Association.She is reappointed for a term beginning Jan. 26, 2012, and ending Jan. 9, 2015.
"Sansom, 64, of Rockledge, is the executive director of the Organized Fishermen of Florida. He is reappointed for a term beginning Jan. 26, 2012, and ending Jan. 9, 2015.

Gov. Rick Scott has reappointed David Lawrence to the Children and Youth Cabinet.

Lawrence, 69, of Coral Gables, is the president of The Early Childhood Initiative Foundation.

Scott Appoints Mackesy to Jacksonville Aviation Authority
Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Francis Frank Mackesy, a former Jacksonville undersheriff, to the Jacksonville Aviation Authority.
According to a release from the governors office:
Mackesy, 53, of Jacksonville, has been the director of emergency and security training at Florida State College of Jacksonville since 2011.
Previously, he was undersheriff of the Jacksonville Sheriffs Office from 1979 to 2011.

Scott Names Mitchell to Duval County Court
Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Jacksonville resident Scott Mitchell to the Duval County Court.
During his 29 years of practicing law in Duval County, Scott has handled cases reflecting a broad spectrum of the criminal justice system, Scott stated in a release. His experience in both public and private practice have given him the perspective to make decisions in an unbiased manner and according to the rule of law.

Gov. Rick Scott appointed Jeanette D. Bigney and Greg Allen Tynan, both of Orlando, to the Orange County Court.

"Bigney, 38, has been a sole practitioner since 2005. From 2004 to 2005, she was Of Counsel with Bigney and Orth and practiced with Rigdon, Alexander and Rigdon from 2003 to 2004.
"She served as an assistant state attorney with the 9th Judicial Circuit from 1999 to 2003.

Gov. Rick Scott reappointed Jean W. Anderson and Powell E. Helm to the board of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services.

"Anderson, 78, of Tallahassee, is retired. She is reappointed for a term beginning Jan. 27, 2012, and ending Sept. 30, 2015.
"Helm, 57, of Bradenton, is the vice president of Helm Vault Service Inc. He is reappointed for a term beginning Jan. 27, 2012, and ending Sept. 30, 2015.
"The appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate."
