Republicans Slam Charlie Crist in New Web Video
The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) released a Web video on Tuesday morning attacking former Gov. Charlie Crist who entered the 2014 gubernatorial race as a Democrat last week. In the new spot, the RPOF slices a Crist video and injects stats showing how Floridas economy suffered under his watch.

Need for Speed? Jeff Brandes Files Bill to Raise Florida Highway Speed Limit
Florida drivers may be able to drive a little faster on the highways thanks to a new bill being filed Tuesday by Sen. Jeff Brandes, R-St. Petersburg.
Brandes' bill would add an extra 5 mph to Florida highways and is being co-sponsored by Sen. Jeff Clemens, D-Lake Worth.

So it was refreshing to see in the tea party an insurgent movement, mainly of people who were not professional politicians, but who nevertheless had the good sense to see that their only chance of getting their ideals enacted into public policies was within one of the two major parties.
Chris Christie on Hillary Clinton's Heels in New Poll
Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey is riding high after his big re-election win last week and a poll released Monday shows he would be a formidable presidential candidate for Republicans come 2016.
Rasmussen Reports released a poll of likely voters on Monday which shows 43 percent backing former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic nomination, with Christie right on her heels with 41 percent.

Will Weatherford Visits Indian River Lagoon, Hears Funding Requests
Florida House Speaker Will Weatherford visited South Florida Monday to tour the Indian River Lagoon, the site of one of the two coastal estuaries battered by heavy summer rains.
Sen. Joe Negron, R-Stuart, chairman of the Senate Select Committee on the Indian River Lagoon and Lake Okeechobee Basin, played tour guide to the Wesley Chapel Republican in order to push for funding for projects outlined in the committee's report, which was approved Nov. 5 in Tallahassee. The suggested actions are meant to help the St. Lucie and Caloosahatchee estuaries.
