Broward College on Wednesday, Oct. 15: On Tuesday, Leadership Florida and the Florida Press Association announced they would be holding the Florida gubernatorial debate on that date with television coverage across the state.

Bullard Replaces Williams as Black Caucus Chairman

Sen. Dwight Bullard, D-Cutler Bay, will be the next chairman of the Florida Legislative Black Caucus, starting on Thursday with his term ending at the end of next years session. He replaces Rep. Alan Williams, D-Tallahassee.

Im thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as the Legislative Black Caucus chair, Bullard said on Tuesday. We have made incredible strides thus far and I look forward to continuing to elevate the dialogue and needs of our diverse caucus.

More Than Half of Voters Oppose FCC Regulation of the Internet

Over half of voters continue to oppose federal regulation of the Internet and also feel Internet users are best protected by the free market, not the government, according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll.

The telephone survey found 18 percent of likely U.S. voters believe the Federal Communications Commission should regulate the Internet like it does radio and television.

Former state Rep. Carl Domino, now running for the Republican nomination to challenge U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, D-Fla., in November, fired a shot across the bow of All Aboard Florida (AAF) as it continues to try to bring high-speed rail to the Sunshine State. Domino also turned his fire to Murphy on the issue.

RPOF Reminds Voters Charlie Crist Wanted Bill Clinton to Resign

On May 6, former President Bill Clinton will be attending a fundraiser in Miami Beach for the Democratic Governors Association (DGA). The Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) is using the opportunity to hit former Gov. Charlie Crist, the favorite for the Democratic nomination to challenge Gov. Rick Scott in November despite spending most of his political life as a Republican, for his call for Clinton to resign in 1998 as the Monica Lewinsky scandal dominated national news and politics.
