Americans Want Era of Big Government to End
A new poll finds most Americans want an end to the era of big government, with more than half of them saying they view the federal government unfavorably.
The Rasmussen Reports poll of 1,000 likely U.S. voters found 64 percent of respondents viewed the federal government as "somewhat unfavorable" or "very unfavorable," while only 28 percent said they viewed the federal government as "somewhat favorable." A minuscule number -- 4 percent -- of voters said they view the government as "very favorable."

The Washingtonian magazine released its Best and Worst of Congress survey of congressional staffers this week and politicians from the Sunshine State took home some of the awards but most of them proved dubious honors.
First launched back in 1986, the survey is gathered once every two years to gain some insight on what congressional staffers think about their bosses and other elected officials in both wings of the Capitol.

Things are spinning out of control. Out of control, at least, by government, and by the United States government in particular. You don't have to spend much time reading the news -- or monitoring your Twitter feed -- to get that impression. Armed fighting in Ukraine. Islamic State beheadings in Iraq and Syria.
