Alan Gross to Attend State of Union Address

An American contractor who was recently released after spending five years in a Cuban prison will be sitting alongside first lady Michelle Obama at Tuesday's State of the Union address.
Alan Gross was released last month as part of a larger deal by President Barack Obama to normalize relations with Cuba. At the time of his release, Gross was serving a 15-year sentence for allegedly attempting to undermine the Havana government for the United States.

Florida House Majority Leader Dana Young, R-Tampa, was named on Monday by GOPAC to its 2015 Legislative Leaders Advisory Board.
The members of our 2015 Legislative Leaders Advisory Board will have an important role in educating and electing a new generation of Republican leaders, said GOPAC Chairman David Avella on Monday. Their involvement will strengthen our mission to build a healthy roster of prepared and tested state leaders who are ready to lead in their legislatures and/or run for higher office."
