Where Have All the Senators Gone?

Four months have passed since Blaise Ingoglia took over as chairman of the Republican Party of Florida in an upset over party favorite Leslie Dougher, but wounds between the Senate and the rest of the party are slow to heal.

Quarterly meetings usually bring in Republican lawmakers from both the House and the Senate. Senate President Andy Gardiner has made appearances at recent meetings, flanked by other top Republicans in the upper chamber.

Not this weekend. Senators were noticeably absent from the party's spring quarterly meeting.

Our Next Mideast War -- Syria

Jeb Bush has spent the week debating with himself over whether he would have started the war his brother launched on Iraq.

When he figures it out, hopefully, our would-be president will focus in on the campaign to drag us into yet another Mideast war -- this time to bring down Bashar Assad's regime in Syria.

Rick Scott Announces Tourism Growth in 1Q of 2015

Gov. Rick Scott announced a solid growth in tourism in the first quarter of 2015. On Friday, Scott noted 28.4 million visitors came to the Sunshine State during the first three months of 2015, up 6.2 percent from the first quarter of 2014, leading to 1,186,900 jobs in Florida, up almost 5 percent from last year. That number includes 1.7 million tourists from Canada and almost 3 million from overseas.

Rick Scott Signs Online Voter Registration Bill

On Friday, Gov. Rick Scott signed a bill allowing online voter registration access, though he admitted some hesitation in doing so due to security and technology issues. Scott sent a letter to Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner on Friday outlining his rationale and hesitations on signing the bill:
